Finding Aids & Library Resources
Archival Finding Aids. Finding aids provide detailed information about
whole collections, including biographical and historical notes, collection scope
and content, topics represented, container lists, and item inventories. Consult
finding aids to discover context for collection items featured in the KHS
Digital Collections, or to plan a visit to the Kentucky Historical Society
Special Collections Research Room.
KHS Library Resource
Lists. In addition to the library's outstanding collection of published
state and local resources, collections include unpublished files that have been
compiled over the past century. The digital collections include folder titles
for the library's historic architecture, biography, church, general subject,
Kentucky subject, and surname files and other unpublished resources.
Family History Workshops. Each month, the Kentucky Historical Society and Kentucky Genealogical Society jointly offer a "Family History Workshop." These sessions focus on a wide range of genealogical topics, from beginning genealogy to using online databases to conduct genealogy research. This collection includes a variety of presentations and handouts from these workshops.
