Description	Jacob Ditzler's journal begins in 1860 while he was preaching at camp meetings in Missouri. Ditzler was born in Oldham County, KY in 1831. He was educated at Hanover College where he studied religion and later became a preacher for the Methodist Episcopal Church. During the Civil War, his sermons reflected his pro-Confederacy sentiments. In his journal, discusses topics such as religion, camp meetings, the war, states rights, slavery and the passing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
