J . Mack Thompson (Democrat) served as a Senator in the Kentucky Legislature from the 5th district (Henderson and Union County) from 1916- 1918 . He was also Representative from the 10th district for Union County in 1920 . Thompson was born 3 August 1867 , the son of A. l . M . and Mary E . Thompson . He was a resident of Sturgis , Union County , KY , where he worked as mayor and city judge . He had also worked as a lawyer , farmer and in the insurance business . Thompson married Minnie Wallace on 15 November 1893 and was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a Mason .
