Dr. Mary Smith is a former president of Kentucky State University. She comments on her family, moving to Kentucky, working at Kentucky State University, being the first African American women president of a university in Kentucky, College Park, St. John A.M.E. Church, the Surratt family, Mary Ellis, the Center of Excellence for the Study of Kentucky African Americans (CESKAA), education in Frankfort, her children, the Grad Club, Stagg Distillery, the Frankfort Country Club, the Belivers Club, and Rosenwald School.
