Hopkinsville April the 15. 1857
Dear Brothe Rubin and Sister Violet
I received your letter
some time sience and should have answerd
it sooner but have ben waiten to have it
read in the schurch I imbraced the opportuni
-ty last sabboth Brother Rob Calwell and
his wife were preset at the time them and
the whole schurch was pleased to hear from
you both. Brother Calwell dined withe
me yesterday. him and his wife left Hop
insvill this morning for Kansas. We were
all very loth to give them up they were
greatly pleased to hear you letter. Dear
sister Violet the many time, I sit and
shed tears meditating on past pleasurs
we have had together conveseing likey
we may never have such times again and
now the fore distant we are apart Dear
Brother Rubin if we meet no more upon
this Earth I feel assured we will meet in
heaven above where parting will be no more
Dear Sister can I have the pleasure of
saying that to you or will I ever have it.
Dear Uncle and Aunt
you wish to no how
my health is it is better than it has been
for some three or four years I have been
able to attend to my business at the
stable all winter and spring my
anand is very much distur [ink blotch] owen to my
children and wife being so fare away from
James Falkner me
