Transcript	(written on top: 1960 1855 105) Miss City March 19 1855 Dear Brother Rubin Five months have elapsed and I have but just taken my pen to answer your indeed welcomed letter, The cause of my not having written is that I have been confined to my bed with the Neuraligia or at least that is what they call the disease. My pen can not express the debt of gratitude that owe to you for your kindness in having my sons funeral preached. Elcy is now in New Orleans but I have not seen her for one year or more. Tell Maria that I have not seen or heard one word concerning the watches or any thing else of his things Give my love to Maria and her mother
