I received partnership letter some time ago and was glad to hear from you all and that you were well and in good spirits, and wish you may always have as good a home as you now have but if you are ever sold, you may then see the difference. In speaking of your [bold?] team in your letter you reminded me of old times which are now past and gone and never to be enjoyed again. It is a great pleasure to me to believe that you all like me as you do, although I have made you work pretty hard but you know that I never stood back myself but I am glad I was never severe with you all. Well I reckon you are all tired looking at the Asylum. I suppose it is nearly done so you have one consolation when you are dead and gone. Your children (I believe you have one) can say you helped to build the big house. We are mighty scarce of hog-meat and corn down here.
